Our life is not the independent activities of career, family, creativity, or personal development. Our life is a balance of all these areas.
When we consciously develop and maintain this balance, it becomes a strong foundation for our development and our contribution to the development of our community.
A rural area has the potential to balance between rural depopulation and urban concentration. But this balance needs to be developed by a synthesis that unites all spheres of life.
This conclusion comes from my agriculture economics, biology, and ecology experience that is united with the experience of living in rural communities for over 25 years: raising children, working as a school teacher, rural service manager, farming production economist, and farmer. I believe in the values that a rural community features and the harmonious interaction with an urban community. Below is the short notice about the Community Creativity Center that can support families, specifically in rural areas.
With warm wishes, Olga Verasen

The project related to the Community Center
“Wizard’s Workshops – Family Activities for Sustainable Development of a Rural Community”
Description
This project is based on the model “Happy Home Studio – Creativity for all” and is related to agriculture economics, ecology culture, and the saving of the unique natural complex. This project focused on family, social priorities, and local initiative support.
These activities are related to the rural values and vision to support rural populations and promote their growth and development with new entrepreneurial initiatives, replicable at a regional and national level.
The project involves interaction with communities located in the village. The relevance of the project topic, and the possibility of replicating this project, makes it possible to consider the support and active interaction with non-governmental organizations in Europe, and European Union support.
The relevance of the activity allows us to talk about attracting volunteers from among parents and students of educational institutions in relevant areas of activities.
A unique feature of this project is the model for sustainable rural development based on village uniqueness, synthesized with economic, social, and ecological priorities. This model will be one of the good deeds supporting rural communities.
Below is an outline of project details and an estimated time frame related to the project activity.
Goal
Creating conditions and a system supporting harmonious family activities for the sustainable development of rural communities.
Project focus
Family
– support of early childhood, and harmonious development of children
– multi-generation communication through family activities
– ability to develop and realize own talents and potential by living in a native rural community
Social priorities
– additional children’s education
– continuing adult education
– public health: stress resistance and immunity in unity with nature Community initiative support
– creating new job opportunities using natural materials “Family Handmade”:
children’s toys, sensory panels, home interior, souvenirs, greeting cards, handmade books
– developing customer services:
catering, shipping, rental housing, transportation, provision of products
– online resources that explain community activity
The basic of the project
Agriculture economics features
– seasonal work creates the opportunity to use wintertime for additional business activities
– closeness to nature allows the use of natural materials
– additional activity in the low agriculture season provides financial opportunity.
Saving the unique natural complex
– the rational combining of new activities will support balancing the anthropogenic load on the territory
– attracting additional activities will allow for preserving family businesses by increasing variety and quality and not necessarily quantity.
– the restoration of crafts and traditions will support returning the land to a natural balance (for example, alder thickets on the site of former fields).
Ecology culture
– additional types of businesses focused on conscious behavior and reducing potential anthropogenic pressure on nature
– а flexible system of activity to use existing infrastructure more efficiently without additional construction that can be a negative influence on the unique nature of Valmorel.
– the information resources, and community activities, will support a conscious attitude towards nature.
This project will detail the use of existing resources and attract additional investment, based on their effectiveness economically and assessment of risk factors.
However, this project is designed for full implementation within three years and expects to reach full financial break even within 1 year. The second year will see profits from activities for ongoing investment. The third year is focused on expanded activity to replicate this model based on Educational Center activities.

Some thoughts about Nature and Community
A sustainable community develops a child-empowering environment that encourages a child’s freedom to responsibly create, uniquely use their talents to create with others – for others, and continually improve their creation process.
Authentic nature develops from within to create a strong, beautiful, and harmonious outside environment.
Urban development can’t be harmonious without being in Unity with Nature. Without contact with authentic nature, Unity with Nature is difficult to attain.
The strongest magnet a rural village community can offer families is its authentic nature.
– How can a village take advantage of its surrounding authentic nature to develop a child-empowering environment?
– What is the best way to unite rural and urban communities to support family harmony in raising children?
How can authentic nature be promoted to support a child-empowering environment in rural villages and support it in urban communities?
