About children’s design: homes, schools, medical centers

Prismatic colors
Prismatic colors are the colors of nature where all energy is supplied. We, humans, have 126 million light-sensitive cells feeding 86 billion neurons with 80% of the information they process and attribute the meaning of their outside world. Nature is the foundation for all color and color combinations. The human eye is most sensitive to, and derives more energy from, prismatic color hues. Prismatic colors that are “shaded”, by the addition of black, subtract the energy of the color. Prismatic colors that are “tinted”, by the addition of white, neutralize the energy of the colors.

Connection with Nature
Nature is the foundation and source of a child’s life from the air they breathe, the food they eat, the clothes they wear, to all of the material possessions they interact with. Consciously developing nature’s influence on the design of space and design elements creates a more child-friendly environment.

Positive Creativity
Creativity is an act of taking what we are feeling and representing it to the outside world. Artists harness their inner world to create something in the outside world. Artworks create “feelings” for the observer. Consciously choosing artwork that evokes feelings of joy, love, respect, and gratitude, in unity with nature, contributes to a child-friendly environment.

Minimizing fear within physical space
New spaces, harboring long expanses, barren windowless rooms, and unfamiliar equipment and designs all contribute to anxiety and fear. Consciously identifying what may be causing anxiety is important. Adding familiar, relatable, and friendly design elements to minimize the influence of these anxiety-producing elements will contribute to a child-friendly environment.
