If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales”

“Where do fairy tales live?” Children have asked me this question many times. “They live in the same place where we all live. We have one common House, our Earth.” I answer, and ask, “Where do you think they live?”
I have heard many answers that have amazed me. The depth of their answers continues to demonstrate the value of childhood, and seeing it through their eyes.

Fairy tales live near us, we just need to listen attentively. . . .
“I hear them, and they are very beautiful!” This answer is from a 4-year-old boy.
“Where do you listen to them?” I asked.
He answered by placing his hand on the left side of his chest. “Here . . . ”

Those wonderful words continue to inspire me to create fairy tales. I create them to support raising harmonious children, and creating a solid foundation for happy lives, based on human values.

Life’s beauty, wisdom, and happiness are reflected in the eyes of our children . . . All children on our Earth are our children . . . We, adults, are responsible for what we bring to the world of childhood. For it is this world they will model in creating their own, and our, future.
For that, we can ask ourselves, “Where do fairy tales live?” and listen. . . .
With love, Olga Verasen

P.S.
This play is based on the book “Happy Home Fairy Tales” which is now available in many languages.
The script was born many years ago and received a special prize at an International stageplay festival for children. It was my first experience creating plays and screenplays for professionals following Home and school theatre.
Then this play appeared in English and went as a finalist and still stays in the Coverfly platform’s TOP best family plays from 2018 to the present. When will this play be realized? I think everything has its own time: when WHY, WHAT, and WHERE come together. . . .
